Endnotes

Martin, I just got some feedback from Scrivener's side of the process: "Looking at it again, I think Nisus only recognises newer RTF syntax, so it skips the old style "endnotes" flag. I'll take a look at the RTF syntax to see if I can make it more compatible." However, I'll send ...

RTF footnotes to endnotes?

I tried exporting a RTF document with footnotes from Scrivener to Nisus Express. Selecting all the footnotes and trying to make them endnotes only gives me a bit of garble at the end of the document. Then Nisus seemed to choke and quit. It occurred to me that Scrivener's use of RTF footnotes/endnote...

Scrolling behavior in 2.6.1

I haven't found another reference to this anomaly in the Forum, so here goes: I'm noticing that when I click on the vertical scroll bar (blue) in a Nisus document window—the document has two or more pages I'm typing in--and try to scroll down, the last few lines of text visible in the window look li...

Substitute for glossing?

I see a "glossing" function has been talked about (well over a year ago on the forum) so perhaps this will be a function added in the not-too-distant future. In the meantime, does anyone have a way to make a substitute kind of glossing? I'm working in Pinyin/Traditional Chinese/English wit...

Ideas for Version 3

I would like to second upping the macro capability to replicate even more of what Classic did: format find and replace, etc., and especially pre-packaged macros for those of us not wanting to learn Perl. Also continue to develop a robust relationship between Express and Bookends bibliographic softwa...

Response to Beta3

Gentlemen: I apologize for mis-posting on the forum site. Here is the post in the right place: 'Zounds! Opening previously written documents from Beta2 is almost instantaneous! Most excellent programmers! The "font" dialogue just flashed by on my laptop. Opening a one-page memo document in...

Footnote or Endnote within a Table?

Playing with the first Alpha:

I wasn't able to find this in the Help:

I tried to insert a footnote/endnote within a table cell. However, footnote and endnote are greyed out.

Is this intended behavior?

It seems faster on my machine--great job guys!

Thanks,
Craig

This thread and apology

Well, as long as I'm just spouting off here... As it turns out, I had incorrectly inserted a wrong last number for my printer location---all is now printing out well in every application. I apologize for this thread and continue to wish the best to Nisus whose tech support, I am positive, wou...

Additionally...

Ah: I just discovered that if I paste the text of my one page document from Nisus into TextEdit, it will not print either!

Typing fresh text in TextEdit prints out fine!

Thanks,
Craig

Printing problem with 2.1.2

I have been using 2.1.2 for a day or two, but had not tried to print until today. After re-setting Printer settings in both Tiger (print utility) and in Nisus, I have tried to print out a number of one page documents, but the printer I am using (networked) simply starts up and doesn't print out anyt...

Automator plans?

I am very interested in trying out Automator with NWE and am working with it this morning. In the meantime, do the Nisus folks see perhaps packaging some useful Automator scripts for Nisus?

Much thanks,
Craig Turner

Explanations for Macros?

I looked in the documentation, but didn't see anything... Is there some documentation that explains what each macro does, that is, each macro that currently comes with Nisus Express? For example, when I typed a few words into a new document ("here is another try at a document and what does word...

Ruler down the side of the document?

I keep thinking I'm missing a very simple key command, but I can't find a way in Nisus Express to show a ruler down the side of my document (styled just like the Ruler that we can make appear across the top of a document). I would like to know how far down the page a number of Returns are taking me—...

Compare Documents in NWE2?

I bought TextWrangler about a month before NWE2 came out, wanting a GREP search and Document comparison function for my article writing. Well, Nisus took care of the GREP searches, which I love. Now about Document comparisons... I wonder if anyone on the list has used the Macro functions to compare ...
