I was going to post this, but instead I will reply. What seems most sluggish to me is start-up and file open, but I will assume it is in the initial set-up of the toolbars and palettes.

For me, Nisus hangs on start-up, spinning beach ball, although one old document is visible. Force Quit. I wonder if it is having trouble reopening previous documents? Preview reported a number of (spurious) permissions errors first time I rebooted after upgrading to 10.9 seed.

At the risk of starting a flame war, it takes a lot of work for a small developer to get the visibility Mac Appstore provides. Yes, they take a cut. And so do Cult of Mac, etc. How else will consumers find out about your software—especially for something like a word processor that isn't a niche prod...

Style for table cells
Styles don't seem to support the Table Cell Border and Shading options. Pity. For example, I don't like the default 20% gray header when I do Insert Table (prefer 50% yellow, as it happens), could change easily with a paragraph style.
