Re: InfoClick: Show in Mail—doesn’t

I have noted this similar problem on my computer at work - sent in a feedback today. But I think the problem is intermittent. I thought updating the database fixed this, but I am not certain. InfoClick seems to be working as expected on my home iMac.

Re: Trouble with Cmd + Y from NWP to Bookends

I had this problem also. Based on a suggestion from the Bookends forum that there is a Mac OS X 10.8.2 bug at work, I restarted my system. Seem to resolve the problem.

Re: Best format for working with Word?

The only problem I see with .rtf is not with the file format per se. Rather, I think the default program on many users' Macs is to open .rtf files is TextEdit, so on occasion when I send an .rtf to a MSW user, they will indicate that they cannot open the file with MSW. This of course is a user educa...

Re: Track Changes Question

Hi Martin,

Thanks for the info! BTW - my lab and the departmental editor are loving NWP 2. The track changes (and text boxes) are definitely a winning feature for those of us who write NIH grants and scientific papers.

Cheers,

Mike

Track Changes Question

How are the colors associated with different people who edit a file determined? Can the user define the order of the colors? Just curious . . .

Re: What to do about Word's track changes feature?

I totally agree about track changes. I have already switched my lab to Nisus, but having a robust track changes would provide a foundation for taking over the rest of the department with Nisus!

Re: Nisus Pro to Word Conversion problems

Have you tried to "Export As" a Microsoft Word Format (binary)? This may work better than Saving As MSW Format.

Re: Feature request: split screen/window

I heartily agree with this feature request. Lack of a split window is a real shortcoming. Also: text box functionality (such that figures for the grants and scientific articles can be easily handled with associated figure legends) is another feature that is lacking. Integration with track changes in...

Re: Questions from a novice

With respect to writing a dissertation, I think the only significant limitation of NWP (and not the old version of Nisus on OS that I used to write my dissertation!) remains how the program handles images. Particularly in scientific writing where figures/figure legends matter, that absence of either...

Re: Desired NWP1.2 Features

1. Better integration of figures with legends. The ability to flow text around a table would solve the problem for me. A 2X1 table could include the figure in the top cell and the legend below, and allow you to resize both from within the Nisus Document. Perhaps a graphic layer like in the old Nisus...

Re: Flowing Text Around Tables

Thanks for the suggestions. Of course it is possible to make a graphic, but when you are fitting a document within a set number of pages, and shrink the graphic to save space, you also reduce the size of the figure legend (which is not what you would want to do - you may want to reduce the size of t...

Flowing Text Around Tables

One of the major limitations of NWP for my academic/grant writing is the apparent inability to provide a legend for graphics. One suggestion I tried was entering the graphic into a table, and then using a table box for the figure legend. This seems to work well - except that it does not seem possibl...
