Re: Double click on file icon in Finder doesn't open file
Another little addendum, for your information. I use NWE on two accounts on the same computer. Although the fix you recommended solved the problem in the administrator account, it did not solve it in the other account. After some thought, I deleted NWE *AGAIN*, and then tried to open an NWE document...

Re: Double click on file icon in Finder doesn't open file
That didn't work.
I've done a little more investigating. It turns out that if NisusWriter Express is already running, then the file opens as expected. However, if NWE is NOT running, then it is not started automatically as other applications are, and the file is not opened.

Double click on file icon in Finder doesn't open file
A few months ago I upgraded to NisusWriter Express 3.4.6. Since then, when I double click on the icon of an NWE file in the Finder, the file doesn't open. There is a bit of animation that suggests that the file *will* open, but it doesn't. I am using Mac OS 10.8.3. Any fix possible?

Re: Curly quotes and fonts
I'm not sure I'm doing what you recommend correctly. In the NWE preferences I selected "New File," and then clicked on the button that showed the default font (Palatino 12.0 pt in my case). The Apple Fonts window appeared. I then selected "Typography…" from the gear box at the bo...

Re: Curly quotes and fonts
Obviously a case where Apple is too smart for my good. The only catch is that I seem to have to turn off the curly quotes in the Typography pane in every document. Is it is possible to make the "off" condition the default in the typography pane, and just use Nisus Expresswriter's controls?

Curly quotes and fonts
I usually use curly quotes, but for some things I prefer the dumb quotes, such as for indicating inches or feet. I turned off the "smart punctuation" feature in the Preferences of NWE 3.4, but I could still only type curly quotes. Furthermore, the quotes were correctly inserted for start &...

Special characters & Wingdings
How do I use the Wingdings font with Nisus Writer Express? If I set Wingdings as the font and type any key, NSE complains that the character I selected was not found in the font WingDings. On the other hand, the Apple Character Viewer doesn't seem to show any of the Wingdings characters.

Pasting a tilde
I was trying to paste words from NWE into an old program (AppleWorks or EndNote 7.0). When I try to paste a word containing a tilde accent, such as señora, the old program displays a question mark for the accented n. However, the reverse process works OK. Is there any way to copy an n-tilde from NWE...
