Re: Lists

It is not a bug because a cross reference to list numbers is not expected to include any After Text. My suggestion in the previous post was to include the cross reference number within parentheses by adding the parentheses in the dummy paragraph. I hadn't thought about it, but I guess that makes se...

Yes, I agree that this is version 1! And it's quite capable already, but it is lacking in some features. That is why I am hoping it grows and why I'm making suggestions. I agree that feature bloat is not desirable, but aren't we already there to some extent? This is already much more than a simple w...

Hamid's suggestion works. One oddity, but it's not a major problem. I defined the list number to look like: (1) by putting left and right parentheses in the before text and after text fields, respectively, in the List palette. When I create a cross-reference to it (referring to the "List Item Number...

I agree with most of what you say, greenmorpher. But I am left puzzled as to the feature set of NWP. NWP really seems to be going most of the way to being able to prepare professional documents (cross-references, indexing, table of contents, styles, etc.). If it is not intended to do that, then why ...

I should have searched more carefully through the forum. Thanks for the link. That seems like a serious omission. I don't find the automatic hyphenation to be very thorough. A fairly large number of lines in my full-justified text end up with unsatisfactory white space between the words (some huge g...

Re: Lists

How many equations are involved and is one paragraph the same as one equation? If this is the case, you can try this workaround: Make one dummy paragraph and insert a cross-reference at the end of the paragraph to its own list number and add parentheses. The dummy and its text will appear like this...

The align button says it aligns the number of each list item in the indent. But it seems to be the opposite of what you'd expect. The left align looks like it aligns right and vice versa. I've not seen any app do the numbering on the right, but perhaps someone else has... Maybe that is why I couldn...

Optional hyphen

Is there a way to add an optional hyphen to a word? (Often Command-hyphen in other word processors, which actually zooms out in NWP.)

Lists

I'm having a bit of a trouble understanding list formatting. In the list palette, what do the "Align" buttons do? They seem to do something, but I can't figure out the pattern! Related to this (I thought), is there a way to create a list that has the numbers appear after the text? I would like to be...

I submitted it through the "Bug Report Form" on your web site.

I'll ship the document off in a few minutes via email.

Thanks.

Corrupt document

I sent a bug report on my problem but have not received a reply. So I thought I would try here. I created a document in Nisus Writer Express v2 with several pages of text, tables, and graphics embedded in those tables. It was probably 5-6 pages long. The other day, I opened the file, and it was only...
