By the way: I agree (in an official manner, since I don't work for Nisus;) ) that the betas have been totally stable and usable for some time now.

Hopefully I didn't break any NDA by saying that :P

Suddently, Word documents sent to me acquire a Nissus icon and open in Nissus. How can I stop it doing this other than trash the application? Eric Again, to reiterate what Martin said (two posts before), the Finder controls this. Changing the default application and logging out/logging back in ough...

Ryan's up to his love letters again... ;) After I kept talking smack about the now-unemployed Clippy, he got all disgruntled and started publishing my love letters all over the internet. That jerk. And the grammar was all fubarred by Word's awful grammar check, too. Needless to say, my prolific pro...

I have to say I think the logo Nisus finally chose for NWP is great. Its shape and color are both distinctive, and it relates to the Express icon (both new and old).

Besides, it looks MIGHTY!

TextMate does do a nice job of doing just a minimal project collection thingy. On the other hand, the way I'd use this is just to keep a collection of versions of the same piece. So, for me, some versioning feature would be more useful. Currently I make a folder for each piece, then create new files...

We do not have a preference that automatically does this whenever you make a selection. However, it is a convention on OSX that double-click and drag (don't let the mouse up after the second mouse down) will allow you to make a selection that only includes whole words at a time. I hope this helps. ...

Re: Capitalizing first letters with powerFind

Here is a simple PowerFindPro search and replace strings to capitalize first words of sentences. This particular example also replaces more than one space with between sentences with just one. 1. Paste this (omit quotes) into the Find What box: ". +([a-z])" 2. Paste this (also omit quotes...

And hang in there with NWE/Pro, that sweet interface will gradually get more of the "Word-like" features you want so that compatibility keeps moving up. Uh-oh. I hope not. Word is a bloated carcass. I'd be very happy if NWPro just has excellent support for imported .doc items that match N...

It appears that you are contradicting yourself. If I export a file from Word as rtf, and that file doesn't include any special (i.e. Word-specific features), then NWP should read the file correctly because, as you state, rtf is a "well documented standard, which guarantees compatibility betwee...

Nisus's implementation of autosave is the best I've seen, and they definitely deserve these kudos for it. I can't count the number of times some program has overwritten all my work by autosaving right over the old file.

So, nice work, guys!

It usually raises eyebrows (it begins with a "pros" and ends with a "titution") And poor Martin...he must've seen 30 versions of this document send in with bug reports. The only thing I miss more than the kittens is the prostitution... Well, sir. Perhaps if there were a beta of ...
