Re: Automatic numbering of figures and pages
Thanks phspaelti, I did have continuous numbering across doc. set. Attempts to correct the faulty Figure 1 restart did give me the continue numbering from previous, option, but it was grayed out and not selectable. Attempts to correct manually did not succeed. Deleting the entry and re-entering stil...

Re: Book length doc with lots of graphics -- recommendations
I, too, am interested in this long-document topic, although I am in the creating-in-NWP stage, not importing from elsewhere.

Automatic numbering of figures and pages
I have been away from writing (thus NisusWriter) for some time; now back, and I cannot remember (or perhaps never used) some stuff. I am now working on what will be a very long, multi-part, image-rich document. My question about auto-numbering of figures has two parts: 1. As I re-find my way into us...

Re: Can I "lock" a page so it will not change during editing
Thanks again Martin, Page Break does work just as i suspected, thus, my reasoning for the multi Returns. I appreciate your clear explanation. I do need free flow of text. One other workflow: rather than drawing shapes that float free, each with its own separate anchoring paragraph, start by drawing ...

Re: Can I "lock" a page so it will not change during editing
Thanks Martin, I reworked the pages and did do the final groupings as you suggested. It has worked out so far. If you're inserting a big sequence of newlines to get to a new page, I don't understand why a page break won't do. It basically does the same thing: ensures that you have a new page "i...

Re: Can I "lock" a page so it will not change during editing
Thanks for weighing-in, Henry. Wouldn't inserting page (or section) breaks affect automatic flow of ordinary text around, within, and through the image-rich pages to the pages beyond? If ordinary text flow and text wrap is unaffected, that is my answer. What I want is to lock the image "layout&...

Can I "lock" a page so it will not change during editing?
I am working with a very image-rich long document. I spent quite some time getting a couple of image-fiiled pages so that they were just as I wanted them. I found that similar layout work on the next few pages entirely disrupted the layout of those original pages. I did not discover the issue until ...

Re: adding arrows to image
Thanks again Martin, A floating image won't become inline unless you change the placement to "inline with text" or turn off "wrap text around shape". Changing the "Wrap" status may be the clue I need to watch. The text-wrap buttons don't seem to be active as well. I sha...

Facing-pages view
Is there a way to display two facing pages in the editing view of a long document? This would be so helpful in the layout of an image-filled document in order to get an overall view of its appearance, balancing of pages, text flow, image size and placement, and so forth.

Re: Control over Headers and Footers
Thank Martin, You have answered my question. I was using "Section" to be the division of the whole project: that is, the four Parts of the total project. I now realize that I have to add a "Section break" each time I wish the Headers/Footers to change. I should have caught this (...

Re: adding arrows to image
Thanks Martin, I suspect you are right about inline vs. floating. I insert the image originally as a floating image, anchored to the paragraph, and add a caption. When I add the arrows, they too are floating on top of the image where they are supposed to be, and anchored to the same paragraph. It is...

Control over Headers and Footers
Is there a way for me to obtain control over the content of my headers and footers? I do want to parse their content down to the content of a few individual pages, not big generalized parts/sections. If I type in the header /footer that I want, the content of previous ones I've typed is automaticall...

adding arrows to image
I am trying to add marking arrows to images in my document. I place the arrow but suddenly it disappears behind the image so it doesn't show. If it is in the middle of the image, it simply disappears; if at the edge, sometimes a tail of it will show behind the image, and it often still has the origi...
