Re: Inverted quotes
If the problem still occurs, can you try again in another new document with a different font applied? If the problem does not occur, can you send us a document where the problem does occur? Okay, Martin, I'll letcha know. Problem is that it occurs unpredictably, so I can't say when I'll be able to ...

Re: Inverted quotes
I've been having the same problem Aldous U has, exactly the same, for a long time now. It's been driving me crazy. I'm a trained typist and freelance editor, and I know the unpredictable inverted quotes I'm running into are not stemming from the way I type. I'm using NWP 1.2, but had the same proble...

printing problems — lines superimpose
Hey, folks. Lately, I've had a few documents print out with the bottom two lines of the next page superimposing over the bottom two lines of the page before. (The document is double-spaced.) Sometimes the same two lines will repeat over several pages. Sometimes, they don't superimpose precisely and ...

Re: Bugs in version 1.1
Thanks, Martin. Customizing the apostrophe thing sounds good. Oh -- and while you're there, put me down for wanting "Track Changes", too, and that they should communicate nicely with Word. My editor uses Word and wants to use Track Changes when we send a manuscript back and forth, but I'm ...

Re: Bugs in version 1.1
I'm on X.4.11 myself. I believe that speed doesn't make any difference — Glossary treats the "e" like a space or punctuation mark and expands an entry in there. Another problem I'm having is that it won't recognize an apostrophe as something it SHOULD expand for, so, for example, if I type...

Re: Bugs in version 1.1
Um … Geoff, were you addressing that to me? If so, I'm not sure what you're asking me.

Re: Bugs in version 1.1
I'm having the same problem with "e". I have an abbrev for "h" (= holistic) and one for "sh" (= stress hormones). But when I type the words "he" or "she" the glossary-expanded words show up in the middle! As in "holistice" and "stress ...

Speed Issues
Hi, all. I've just solved a problem I was having with NWE taking forever (like, say, approx. 5 minutes) to load, lingering mostly while "loading fonts" and also being slow to open documents I'd double-click or whatever. I came into the forum now to volunteer my solution, and see that other...

Nissus Email
Meanwhile, does anyone here know if you can re-order the personalities in the drop down menu, to change the order in which email accounts are accessed? You might be able to do it in a similar way to how someone (somewhere) once said how to rearrange your email folder names under the Emails menu. Fi...

Spelling Issues
Midwinter, I'm still having difficulties getting the spell-check prefs to stick. Had a really frustrating go-round with it yesterday, in 2.6! Kept trying to get new docs to open in Canadian English and to spell-check in Canadian English. And I'd set one thing and open a new doc and start working and...

I WISH the Nisus folks would just tidy up a few things about it so that it would run a little more smoothly on OS X, and then give it back to us otherwise as is! I'd be THRILLED for that little gift! Are you listening, Nisus folks? I'm not the only one who still prefers Nisus Email over anything else!

Thanks, dshan. Your response was clear and helpful. Not sure why I didn't do that before -- or whether I tried it -- but I've done what you suggested now, and hopefully it shall work.

Non-responsive buttons in tooldrawer
I've had it happen to me more than once, today. Quit the application, re-booted, restored factory settings to Nisus New File.dot, dared to try customizing that file again using somewhat different criteria, closed Prefs, called up a New file, once again, the Tooldrawer was non-responsible. This time,...

Non-responsive buttons in tooldrawer
Upon opening a new document, I first tried to change top and bottom margins to 1" only (rather than default 1.25") by grabbing and pulling them right on the page. The top one changed; the bottom one did not respond. Opened the Tool Drawer, under Margins, tried to put cursor into margin mea...
