Background smudge under headings
I am importing formatted text from an external editor (using Markdown Perl script to do the formatting on the fly as it happens -- don't think this is the problem though) It all copies over to NWP fine EXCEPT that I get a kind of grey smudge under the headings and subheadings -- a bit like the good ...

Re: html import into NWP
Thanks for that martin -- as I thought.
Anyone else got experience of importing html into NWP?

html import into NWP
I'm not finding that html import works well -- seems to give somewhat random results for heading sizes, and in my most recent trial, all the text and heading sizes are exactly double the CSS parameters. For context, I'm working with a project in Tinderbox (a number of NWP users will be familiar with...

Support for Markdown
I'm using Markdown increasingly on certain jobs which require speed and simple formatting of headings, lists, quotes etc. Markdown enables fast text entry without leaving the keyboard. Is there a way I could combine Markdown with NWP to get formatted output? OK, I can do it using styles and still re...

Re: Background colour in table cells
Palettes docked. We are talking about the colour well, exactly as your illustration. By default it is shown black. When I click on it (set to foreground and to a tint) I then click on a colour in the colour palette e.g. red, like your illustration. I would expect the colour in the colours (Foregroun...

Re: Background colour in table cells
Hi Mark, good to hear from you. You suggested... 1. Put your insertion point in any cell, or select cells. 2. Choose Foreground from the pop-up menu. 3. Choose the blend or pattern you want from that same pop-up menu. 4. Then click the color swatch on the left ("Foreground") and choose you...

Background colour in table cells
I needed to put some background colour in certain cells of a table. So I 1. Selected the cell 2. Clicked on background colour in the Table Cell Shading palette 3. Adjusted background colour to solid (or various percentages) 4. Clicked on the colour well to change the colour, and selected a new colou...

Comments -- feature request
I really like the Comments facility. In fact, it is the reason I have returned to using NWP as one of my main writing tools. I would like a new feature that could be a variant of the existing comments. Call it a "margin note" and display it slightly differently, and also ALLOW PRINTING of ...

Language setting
I like to use British English. I have set every preference and setting I can find to British English, but I find docs keep reverting to US English. I have even remade the Nisus New Document. But perhaps there's something I've overlooked? Or the Nisus app thinks that people like me are just an anachr...

Got the UK English up, but it still defaults to US however much I change the prefs, the flag at the bottom and the language in the drawer. The spellcheck doesn't seem able to work in UK English. It's not a major issue -- don't use spell checking much -- but it would be nice to get it working properl...

International or UK English
It's nice having a toggle on the language to go from US English to UK English and back again (Nisus Newsletter this week) but I don't have UK English available in my 2.5. I understood not having UK available in the betas and fc but thought the paid-for version would have that slightly greater breadt...

Setting indents in styles
I've found that the ruler for setting indents in styles doesn't relate to the ruler in the doc. It's too narrow and the units don't seem to correspond. I needed to set a couple of styles with indents of 11.5 and 13.5cm respectively. I found I was unable to (a) set the parameters as quantities (as ab...

Notation, floating graphics, full screen
You've done a great job on 2.5! Notation features -- top of my list. As a writer I always have an eye to the next revise, or something that I need to go back to. Most other attempts at notation can't keep the notation together with the text it refers to. This would be a "leg up" feature th...

Importing pdfs - freeze
I'm using NWE 2.5 having worked through the betas -- with a G4 PB 400 running 10.3.9
When I try to insert a .pdf graphic, nothing seems to happen (no image) but I lose the cursor. Effectively a freeze.
If I drag it on, same thing.
