Re: A Big Thanks To Martin ('Official Nisus Person')

Wow, are we really that nice a bunch? :^} It's heartening to know you can shoulder the responsibility for such complex software, without adopting a skeptical attitude toward your user base. It illuminates your constructive & positive spirit! I hope you're managing a little down time over the hol...

Re: NW for iPad?

An ancient thread, but I'll add my two cents: I could really use a way to round-trip my Nisus files seamlessly between Mac & iPad, one that doesn't lose stuff from my Nisus documents. I don't care if the iPad app is Nisus, or something else that's fully compatible with Nisus files. I depend on m...

A Big Thanks To Martin ('Official Nisus Person')

Hi there, When I first adopted NWP 2, split pane/comparison editing was one missing feature I craved, and upon a forum search I found that other people wanted it too. I logged my own vote for the feature; but since Martin is reserved in his responses, I didn't sense much of a hope for it, anytime so...

Re: Go To Cursor

I have no time to respond, but I've already read that wiki about thorn! I am interested in the similarity between early 'Old English', and the Icelandic language – not so far apart!

Also, my sister is crazy about Iceland, and has visited many times.

Re: Go To Cursor

Thanks, Þorvarður! That does the trick.

I'm curious about the characters in your name, and wonder if you are Icelandic?

Go To Cursor

Hi,

Is there a command for Go To Current Cursor Position?

(I ask because: When I Show the Comments column, add a comment, and then Hide Comments,
my text body often scrolls somewhere else in my doc! I need to manually relation to my cursor position. Sometimes.)

Thanks in advance,

Re: NW Pro and the iPad Pro Revisited

Although there are exporting/importing work-arounds that are functional for getting texts back & forth between OS X and iOS, it's equally true that there are a many other apps that can round-trip simple formatted texts. In fact, Evernote works great, if your formatting/navigating needs are modes...

Re: NWP and iOS: About Back&Forth-ing

Yikes, you guys are making my head reel with the scripts & macros et al. Once, in another life, I figured out a bit of scripting within Microsoft Word, but it was a learning curve for me. I'm at a point where I don't want another learning curve. I'm getting older, and now feel that I have to get...

Re: NWP and iOS: About Back&Forth-ing

Mulling it over: My NWP-on-Mac experience is so perfectly _transparent_ , so out of my way. Will I sacrifice my sacred writing flow so easily?? Now I'm thinking: If I feel compelled to work on my text while on iPad, I can just - open my Nisus .rtf in Dropbox app – Read Only - open a 'scratch' docume...

Re: NWP and iOS: About Back&Forth-ing

Thanks for the extra guidance, Adrian. (And nice, from my land-of-handsome-prime-ministers, to hear from a fellow colonial.) I'm sure the cross-app and cross-platform stuff works for some folks. I don't think it's going to work for me. I'll try Mellel. I'll miss NWP though, since I had it set up ver...

Re: NWP and iOS: About Back&Forth-ing

UPDATE in light of Hamid's answer: Thank you so much for the definitive answer, Hamid! Well that settles it. Looks like my cozy NWP affair is over, if I want to co-exist on other platforms. :^{ Sigh, life is becoming one continuous technological transition/adaptation. It's like being homeless. :^/ ...

I don't have a specific iOS app in mind, although Mellel for iPad looks like a candidate. I'm open to suggestions – preferably app(s) where I can navigate the text by my headi...

Re: NWP and iOS: About Back&Forth-ing

Bump!

Will I lose any NWP-specific formatting,
if I trade Nisus's .rtf's back and forth between
NWP on Mac and
an .rtf app on iOS?

I especially need my Heading Styles to survive
(since I organize my prose by their Table of Contents indents).

Thanks in advance!

Hello Martin Official Nisus Person! I sure appreciate your response.
