Label formatting with tables

There was a helpful discussion on this subject at: http://www.nisus.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=2807&p=12310 I have one suggestion to add: a quick way to set the height of the table rows. 1. Set the page top & bottom margins as appropriate for your labels. I used .4 inch for Avery labels. 2. Crea...

Revision Date of Macros

Martin, it would be helpful for the repository to include the revision date of each macro in parentheses to help us recognize whether a given macro has been updated since we last downloaded it.

"Select by Font" macro useful to detect unintended fonts

This macro is extremely useful to detect whether a document includes fonts that you don't intend. This can happen if you paste into your NWP document some text from a document created by another person or text from a web page.

Thanks, Kino-san!

Re: Can't Find Saved Expressions.

AppleScript

Kino-san, this might be a good excuse for you to experiment with AppleScript. The System Events application includes a "property list suite" that allows you to directly read and modify property list items without the need to parse the hexadecimal data. I've never used the "property list suite", so I...

Section Break inserts excessive vertical space

When I insert a Section Break (Same Page), the section break seems to occupy an amount of vertical space roughly equal to 1 1/2 line heights. This produces inconsistent vertical spacing between paragraphs. (This is a long-standing issue, but I forgot to "complain" about it until it was raised by a m...

Paragraph "Space Before" after section break

If a paragraph style specifies a "space before" value, this is ignored for the first paragraph immediately following a section break, even if the section break is defined as "no page break". This does not make sense to me. I think "space before" should be ignored only if the paragraph begins at the ...

Styles palette: suggestion to improve contrast

Does anyone share my feeling that the gray background that indicates the currently selected style in the Styles palette is too subtle? It certainly is on my Macbook Pro (which has impaired contrast because you cannot open the lid far enough to view the screen at a 90-degree angle). My suggestion is ...

Kerning (Loosen) Macro

One caution regarding Kino's kerning macro: Nisus designed the kerning commend to apply to the kerning among the selected text AND to the space to the right of the selected text. If, like me, you find it more intuitive to apply kerning only within the selected text, the macro should reduce the lengt...

Find: Ignore Case (question and/or feature request)

Is it possible to find all occurrences of word A and replace it with word B such that word B will have its first letter capitalized at positions in the document in which the first letter of word A was capitalized? In other words, the replacement text should match the case of each occurrence of the f...

Macroize bug

The Macroize command in the Find dialog in PowerFind mode does not seem to translate Wild Card tokens. Such tokens, such as "any character" or "any letter", are replaced with spaces when Macroized.

The work-around is to switch to PowerFind Pro before you use the Macroize command.

User Guide fonts too small

In the next release of NWP, I'd be grateful if you would increase the font size of the body text. I find it difficult to read. It is ridiculously small relative to the size of the illustrations and relative to the size of the heading fonts. Aside from readability, I think the huge disparity between ...
