Re: Possible feature Request(s)
From the Comments gear dropdown menu (at the bottom of the document window) apply 'Comment Display Options...'. This will bring up a pane where you can set the Comment pane to appear on the right. Thanks Hamid. Incredible how you can look at things and still not see them even when they're right in ...

Possible feature Request(s)
There may be a way to do this but if not please consider it a feature request. Is it possible to make the comments sidebar open on the right of the screen rather than the left? I know it will be pointed out that this may interfere with the tool draw, but if you are reviewing an article in comment mo...

Re: Locking up
Big problem. I imported a 127 page document from Scrivener and have been editing it. Suddenly it freezes, ....... I take it you export from Scriv as .rtf and then use Nisus to open the resulting file. Have you tried importing into Word? (Washes mouth out :-) ) I would export your file from Scriv an...

Feature Request
Would it be possible to have a toolbar icon for show/hide the navigator pane? Also at the top of the navigator pane a small button "add bookmark as..". This would bring up the current add bookmark window with any highlighted text as the bookmark name, or you could add your own text. To me at least, ...

With respect to stability I have found Nisus Writer Express to be very good. .................I do hope that the problem is solved for foobar, I don't doubt for one moment that it exists. My own experience is very similar. I use NWE most days and have experienced no trouble. I swore by Classic Nisu...

FWIW I do similar routine maintenance every couple of months or so. I use Onyx to repair permissions, clear caches and rebuild the launch services dBase as well as doing the routine Unix stuff. I then startup from a separate disk and use the tools in Techtool to check my disk over. In total it takes...

Re: Pro
............ the only way I will "reinvest" in the Pro version is if it features automatic read/write of the new Word format. .... Given that MS have not long released the specs for their format, I really can't see this version of NWPro supporting it. Neither will you be able to 'save as' in the ne...

Re: All New Or Just Improved?
10.3.9 will be the minimum, 10.4 preferred. I can't see them making it 10.5 only.dshan wrote:dshan wrote: Hmm, I wonder what the OS and h/w requirements for Nisus Writer Pro will be? I'm betting OS X 10.5 is likely required, and there's an outside (hopefully very outside) chance it's Intel-only too.

Re: Fixed line height
Micro$oft Wierd and Word Perfect, both use their own text engines; NWE, uses Apple's text engine. Apple's text engine does not support fixed line height, so either (a) you are asking Nisus to completely rewrite NWE for this reason, or (b) you should address your problem to Apple. I though Nisus had...

OK try this. Open NWE with new blank file. Open prefs -> languages. Select language and the window will change to one with spelling listed. Select your dictionary there. If this does work, open your prefs for new document -> edit file. Do the above and save. Close prefs, quit NWE and next time you s...

Are you sure it's not doing an automatic save in the background?gemboy27 wrote:..........
it is more a stutter... that is on occasion there will be a delay before the typing appears. then once it does, there is no problem.

For me at least, there is also 2.5, send your paper to co-authors for comments/revisions, 2.6 review co-authors comments/revisions, and 2.7, fight with co-authors about comments/revisions. It's not a problem I have very often. Whenever I have needed comments they are usually done in coloured text w...

Hi all: Ok I'm late to this thread so my requests have no doubt been asked before. Still here we go: More work on footnotes. The ability to have an un-numbered footnote (= a 'true' footnote) with references in endnotes. An outliner. The spadework is there already so this shouldn't be too difficult. ...

I'd like to join in the thanks to Martin, Mark, Dave and the team at Nisus. I've been a user since 5.1.3 which for me was, and still is, the best WP around, although NWE is catching up. I too have found the team to be very prompt in their responses, and unfailingly courteous, even when their patienc...
