Re: Save vs Apple versioning (?) problem

Should also note that the grayed-out "- Edited" does not appear when other macros that Save a non-glossary (rtf) document end. This only happens with glossary files.

Re: Save vs Apple versioning (?) problem

I just noticed that after the Save beep, " - Edited" is quickly appended to the filename at the top of the document window grayed out.

Save is the last statement in the macro. The file is definitely saved.

Re: cmd-F13 oddity

After changing to the shortcut with the gremlins displayed, both macros behave as expected.

I wondered if F13 was being triggered at the same time as cmd-F13 (without the gremlins), but dunno.

Re: Save vs Apple versioning (?) problem

Perhaps the only thing special about the documents is they are glossary files (ngloss) in the Glossaries folder. The macros call a separate macro to open the glossary to edit, then does a bit of text manipulation, and then ends with Select All Select End Type Text $pasteText Glossary Entry Break Sav...

cmd-F13 oddity

pre-v2.1 a macro was assigned the shortcut cmd-F13 (function key), which appeared in the menu keys preference pane with the squiggly command key character followed by "F13". Another macro was/is assigned simply F13.This appearance carried over to v2.1. However, the behavior changed. Whenever I key c...

Save vs Apple versioning (?) problem

Numerous macros for adding to glossary files end with Save, leaving the window open. Sometimes I will further edit the entries, but most often simply type cmd-W immediately to then close the window *without making any further changes.* pre-2.1 this worked fine. With v2.1, however, an irritating dial...

Re: location of support files changed
And yes, support files (eg: Macros, Templates, and Glossaries) are now by default stored in the user's Document Manager folder.
Just to be clear, the "user's Document Manager folder" is the Nisus Documents folder inside the Documents folder, right? I assume so because I simply clicked...

location of support files changed

Thanks to Nisus for the update. The preferences panels moving to a submenu is a welcome improvement. Thanks. Others that use macros to manipulate glossaries should know that glossaries have moved to the Nisus Documents folder inside the Documents folder, which will likely require tweaking a few macr...

Re: keyboard selection from Prompt Options dialog

I'd like to respond in an easier-to-read format with the parts being responded to in the white inset boxes. How do you do this, particularly if responding to a message that is not last in the list? I'm guessing it has something to do with the Quote button above this editing box, but selecting text, ...

Re: keyboard selection from Prompt Options dialog

Hi, Þorvarður. And praise be the copy/paste function! May I ask how you pronounce your name? 1) Glossary file path: I actually just discovered that my file path is also .../Nisus Writer Pro/, and NWP must be doing some magic in the background because it puts my glossaries in the ...Pro... folder. It...

recovered files, glossaries (ngloss), and zrtf

(A) Perhaps it is due to how quickly I edit glossary files, but I can fairly reliably cause NWP to crash when editing and saving glossary files. (without actually trying) It seems related to commands, particularly Save and Close Window commands, being asserted too quickly. That is not the problem, o...

Re: Using NWP as a CAT tool

re: Nisus vs Scrivener as translation tool Never used Scrivener, but the post about split windows, etc., sent me to their website. Based on their information, it offers nothing over Nisus for this translator. A lot depends on the type of translation and how the individual translator works. While I l...

Re: Feature request re Find/Replace

The non-functioning scroll bar I failed to mention was one reason I wrote.

But even if you could scroll, you couldn't see the entire replace statement at once.

Feature request re Find/Replace

The find pane in the F/R window is expandable, which is particularly handy for building a long find string. I've found this even handier since figuring out how to use Capture(). However, the replace pane remains a tiny 2 lines high, though there is a scroll bar. It would therefore be even better if ...
