Hi -
still on Tiger - but does Apple's "Font Book" Utility list Palatino, any comments? Is Palatino font still in "Macintosh HD/Library/Fonts"? or in any other FONTS folder concerned? Run a search and locate maybe duplicates?

Well - you can fake AV's 2 columns with Nisus 2 columns table feature - BUT any page break will happen from row to row only, i.e. between rows and NOT within rows as text flow happens to run... Would be great to have this feature available in Nisus - Word compatible; so FinalDraft can import... stay...

That's the AV double column thing I was asking for sometime ago... Just double column table rows - next to impossible to do with a word processor, because the table rows should page break any line within, but won't. Final Draft AV would be the way to go - though that's thought for parallel scripting...

Well - just had to open an ".odt" file and was at a loss. Googled: OpenOffice/NeoOffice/AbiWord will open. As AbiWord did the trick for me chances are Nisus will implement Save/Open (as) AbiWord ODT next!? BTW: The most common filename extensions used for OpenDocument documents are: .odt for word pr...

Well - I definitely would prefer dropping a rotated PDF - we are on OX, aren't we? You can Save as PDF in all apps and Crop and Rotate in Preview - Insert to Nisus Pro then. PDFs are resolution independent, so will print at best anywhere. BTW rotated text entered in Word gets misplaced in Nisus Pro,...

Well - using Apple's Character Palette to inspect the system font Palatino makes me wonder: just have a look at glyph numbers 440 throu 450 for a start. And no Unicode hyphen +2010 around - depending on how you enter the different soft/non breaking/hyphen-minus/hyphen/minus stuff chances are you end...

Hi -

must be something else: "abcd" does work definitely with Palatino. Are there any Symbol like characters involved? I would guess...
Can you just copy and send the text concerned, please.

Well - I too can't reproduce this - it reminds me somehow of Publius' theorem on: Am I missing something or does NWP not automatically convert two dashes ( -- ) to an em-dash? So in a way we had this before - did you do a count of the so-called "conjoint"? Make sure it is not just a display thing. W...

Well, there is nothing but true Small Caps, that's for sure - I would never use fakes for these myself. Yes and the only reason for Nisus to provide the menu SC entry should be for exporting text to applications that do not support Small Caps properly. Is there any experience on this available? ...

Well - both are right somehow - but "option dash dash" is trickie: because two en-dashes still don't make one em-dash really, as Stats palette counts TWO for "option dash dash" em-dash. The point is that en-dash has the width of 500 - two en-dashes make 1000 - that's the width of em-Dash, but still ...

Hi again - 1) just found a NWX posting concerning non-breaking hyphen entered via macro - what about entering soft hyphen this way too? I did customize my keyboard with SIL's Ukelele directly... 2) soft hyphen displays an uggly en-dash wherever entered, and when actually breaking the line a hyphen g...
