Re: When are macros visible in the Finders Column view?

Great.
It can be done by a Keyboard Maestro Editor macro. (Give it half a second pause after returns and press buttons "Use .rtf" and "Use .nwm" with a space before the dot.)

Re: When are macros visible in the Finders Column view?

Martin wrote: I'm afraid I don't know why the Finder would have a preview for one ".nwm" containing RTF but not another. One hypothesis: at some earlier point (eg: OSX 10.6) the Finder was smart enough to recognize the RTF inside and generate a preview. These previews can be stored in the file's met...

Re: When are macros visible in the Finders Column view?

Martin says: For whatever reason, the Finder will display a preview for the macros containing plain text, but is not smart enough to detect and decode the RTF. If we really wanted to solve this, NWP would have to come with a QuickLook generator that handles the ".nwm" extension and decodes the RTF. ...

Re: When are macros visible in the Finders Column view?

I was talking of standard Nisus macros, with the ending .nwm not on applescript or perl used by Nisus. I did not find a clear indication about readability from the date of creation. The interest of seeing the contents of macros is of course to let you find older models when you write a new one. I am...

When are macros visible in the Finders Column view?

If I open the Nisus Macro Folder in the Finder, some macros can be read directly in the Finders Column View, but most show only the Nisus icon. Why is that?

Re: Finder info window of Nisus document

Thank you Philip. As you say the problem is how to make applescript interpret the variable passed from the Nisus macro. Unfortunately the Reference provided by Nisus does not include a helpful example for this situation. Your suggestion to read the file info is certainly interesting for some purpose...

Finder info window of Nisus document

I want to use a macro to see the Finder's information window of the Nisus document on top. I tried this: $doc = Document.active $doc = $doc.filePath $code = ' tell application "Finder" activate open information window of document "$doc" end tell' Run AppleScript $code It does not work. What did I do...

Re: Nisus Writer Pro 2.0.5 macro enhancements

Thanks Philip.
This, and the possibility to link to aliases rather than hard links makes Nisus 2.0.5 far more than a minor update!

Re: Nisus Writer Pro 2.0.5 macro enhancements

Could we just edit an existing link so that it calls a macro in the menu?
What text should be inserted to do that?

Re: Graphics problem

OK Thanks. I sent it. The problem was: The file I sent you to illustrate the problem needed a screen shot. And as I said, screen shots do not behave as they should on my Nisus application. But let's wait and see. I am astonished that nobody else seems to have complained so far.

Graphics problem

I don't know when it started, but since a certain time I find it impossible to paste a graphic into Nisus, resize it, and keep it resized. Everything seems OK, but after saving and reopening, instead of seeing the resized graphic, I get the graphic in original size, but only a chunk of it as big as ...

Re: Book on Nisus Writer Pro

Welcome.
And because Nisus is so well done, the largest chapter should be a "cooking book" called macros.
