Re: sections, headers and columns

Yes, Philip, you are right: Number 3 ist the heart of the problem. In Nisus Classic it was so easy: I fixed a header to a paragraph and the header appeared at the head of the page where the paragraph started and on the following pages until a new header was fixed at another paragraph. This combinati...

Re: sections, headers and columns

Thanks Adrien, this is a workaround. Perhaps Nisus will find a more elegant solution for this simple task before my manuscript is finished. There should be an easier possibility to start a new header at a page where a certain paragraph stands. And there should be a possibility to add headers to a 2-...

Re: sections, headers and columns

Dear Adrian, thanks for the explanation. Didn't understand it all but I think I got the idea. Let's do it the other way round, I explain what I want and perhaps somebody knows how to accomplish it: I have a work in progress with over 400 pages (a dictionary). It has 28 chapters according to the lett...

sections, headers and columns

I have a document with about 20 sections, each with a different header. I used "Same Page" for the section break because I don't want any page breaks. Strangly the new header does not appeare on the page where the section break is, but beginns only at the following page. What am I doing wrong? For t...

Did it. Now it does exactly what I wanted and saves me a lot of time. Thanks again!

Re: Macro request

Dear Philip, "Remove Spaces" works fast and perfect. Splendid! "Add Spaces" has a problem with the sign Ḏ̣ which is a combined charakter out of Ḏ and a dot under it. After the execution of the macro the Ḏ̣ is splitted to a Ḏ followed by a space with a dot under it, like Ḏ ̣ If it is difficult to cha...

Macro request

Dear NW Pro community, I am not skilled enough to write macros, therefore I would appreciate it very much if one could solve the following problem for me. I have a very large document with sequences in it like [return] A[space]B[space]C[tab][text] [return] A[space]B[space]C[tab][text] [return] A[spa...

Perfect! And really very fast!

Thank you very, very much. This saves me a lot of time and work.

Greetings from Ramallah

Re: Finding lines with coloured text in it

Does it improve the speed if you change it to this? (?<=^| |
)[^

]*\{[^

]*(
|
) Yes it improves the speed. But if the next occurence is more than 10 pages away, it still needs really a long time. I do not dare to try it in a macro. Nisus crashed today very often.

Re: Finding lines with coloured text in it

hmmm ... if I copy [^

]*\{[^

]*(
|
) in my Find/Replace window, it needs very long to find the next line with { in it. If a copy Find All '[^

]*\{[^

]*(
|
)', 'Ea' in a macro document, the macro results in a neverending spinning wheel. I am now out of ...

Re: Finding lines with coloured text in it

Tried to understand the code — no chance.

Therefore, can you make a second macro for me, which finds all "lines" which have a { (curved bracket) in it?

Re: Finding lines with coloured text in it

Thanks, philip, the term [^

]*[^

]+[^

]*(
|
) finds exactly what I called a "line". (Note: I had to remove the | ("or") in your expression, because it is part of the text). The search expression works well and fast. But if I apply to the middle term [^

]+ th...

Finding lines with coloured text in it

Hello together, I am looking for a Power Find Pro search expression which finds in a very large document coherent text which has in it one or more of the following colours: blue, green, cyan, orange, purple, grey. Maybe there is also black text in it, maybe not. I want those lines which are preceded...

Re: Soft hyphen doesn't show

By chance I found just now an example for poor German hyphenation: k-einen k-eineswegs Perhaps also the following is wrong (?; just a suspicion) k-einer k-eine k-einerlei k-ein k-einem k-einesfalls But German hyphanation is very much better now. Thanks! Do you want me to report hyphenation nonsense,...
