International Language Preferences

I have been using NWP for about 10 years. Never any problems to speak of. I use Spell Catcher, and have never had a problem with any program and until a few weeks ago no problem with NWP. However, in the past 3-4 weeks I have received this warning each time I launch NWP, regarding System Preferences...

Re: Why do you choose Nisus?

I used Nisus in the pre-OS X era. But when I moved to OS X Mellel was handling Hebrew very well, which I needed. So for multiple language and structured writing, Mellel is my first choice. But for every day writing Nisus Pro is my choice. For some major projects I use Scrivener (curriculum and my bl...

InfoClick crashing

I have noticed in the past month or so that InfoClick crashes whenever I try to search for criteria. Then I try to rebuild the database and InfoClick will crash again. I have never had this problem prior to a month ago.

I sent the crash report by email to InfoClick at Nisus dot com just now.

Re: Gee, NWP is a pleasure to work with!

I have Gentium Book Basic. I had used that for quite some time, but in the last year or so have used Linux Libertine O. Very nice, readable font.

But I like how well Gentium Book Basic turned out.

Nice, Henry. Out of curiosity, what font were you using?

Re: Searching other header info?

Howdy, if I am understanding you, you can search for a contact, then when it is entered, you can click on the little arrow beside it and it will give you options to limit to "from" "to" "cc" or "bcc." Is that of any help?

Re: Font size won't go below 11?

There is no style associated with it and I couldn’t get it to work. As soon as I changed the paragraph style to Normal, then I could change the font size.

Re: Workflow for academic writing?

(BTW: Doesn't NWP play well with Hebrew? I've only used Greek in addition to English and Norwegian so far, no right-to-left yet ...) Mellel is developed by two Israeli brothers. When OS X came out, Mellel could handle Hebrew and switching on the fly. It worked so smoothly that I continue to use it ...

Re: Workflow for academic writing?

I have Scrivener, Bookends, and NWP (and Mellel for my Hebrew work). This link describes how to set up Scrivener and Bookends.

Re: What is Nisus doing when it is "typesetting text"?

In contrast I have a NWP document that is only 10 pages in length, one style, one font, rarely edited (I need the info often, though) and at times it takes 3-4 seconds to text set before opening.

A ruler for Geoff

Geoff, I remember your desire for a rule.

Might this work?
