Is it possible that Apple is trying to split the difference between Word and a page layout application? At any rate, I bought it (mostly for Keynote) and I'm interested in seeing what it's like. I'm an academic writer in the humanities, so my needs out of a word processor are fairly meager—I need te...

Well, I've not had any trouble with em dashes (shift + option + - ), but I have had no end of trouble from a document created in Word and then moved over to NWE. Footnotes are funky, styles lost or applied where none should be, and then, oddly, I can't add page numbers. They appear on the first page...

We will never kill widows nor orphans.

We will, in due time save and protect them as they should be.

So, yes, very funny, but what is with the "keep on same page"-feature? I cannot find it.
Weird. I've seen it, and now I can't find it either.

Earlier this week I was working on some syllabi for next semester, and when I would select the text and drag it into a table, or if I moved text around within a table, it would copy rather than move.

Is there some trick?

I reversed the icon a while back so the Nisus guy actually made a proper "N" instead of a backwards "N."

Between you and me, irev, no secret handshake is needed to get the information you seek. While the bugs in NWX remain hidden from the general public, locked inside an iron vault at Nisus HQ, you can decipher the code by playing this record backwards: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0...

Re: Feed Back Two Way Street

I don't really think that a bug report monitor would be all that helpful, and in the end, it seems to be more a way to satisfy a few users' curiosity than anything else. If anything, such a bug list should be hidden and available only, perhaps, through an Nisus email discussion list. Or, perhaps bes...

Re: two different view questions

I haven't really tried it, but I am wondering why one would use the draft view? is there a benefit to writing in that? I would like to have a view of 142 percent (128 isn't big enough), is there a way to change or add this as a selection for the magnifing glass selection tag thanks 1) I write in dr...

midwinter: What a very interesting idea! You just might find one of these appearing very soon. Cheers, -Charles Charles, You might consider looking at this MacNN forums thread about the Omniweb 5 public beta. Specifically, notice how active the Omni folks are in it, taking the time to respond direc...

Charles: I'm not suggesting that a public beta would be useful for bug fixing. I'm saying that if you ran a Nisus public beta thread over at Macnn and also at AppleInsider, you'd get all kinds of interest, I imagine. It seems like every week there's a new thread by someone who's unhappy with Word an...

The folks at Omni have been able to use the public beta system as a way of drumming up all kinds of interest in their product.

Granted, betas in web browsers are far less likely to delete your novel than word processors, but it still might be profitable for Nisus to adopt this model.

For some reason, I read your typo as "webhamster." ;) Cheers Hmm, it should be hebmaster, eh I mean nedbaster…finally I hope I typed it right: webmaster. :D I never ever spell any words wrong, but sometimes the lett...
