Re: Underline

And even curiouser - if I try and copy past, as soon as I select some text to copy the baseline offset reverts to 0 before I even copy, never mind try and paste it elsewhere. But as we know, my NWP does curious things.

Re: Underline

Hi Adrian, Sorry, my reply doesn't seem to have been posted. But I said thanks :) and that I'd probably be satisfied with paragraph borders. For the record I seem to have set (on my original document) the underline baseline at +5 pt, but quite how I have no idea, and as I say, even if I save this se...

Underline

A very long time ago I drew up a document which had subheadings (that I created without using a style) that had underlines that were 1. right acorss the page (I used spaces, not tabs, presumably because I couldn't work out how to do it using tabs) and 2. further from the text than is usual (ie more ...

Re: No more autosave

Thanks Martin, this sounds good. All I want is the prompt... :) I'll give it a go.

Re: No more autosave

I haven't upgraded yet, but perhaps someone (indeed, even Martin) can answer - my issue is not with autosave as such, but the fact that there is no initial prompt - which means that apart from anything else all my documents are called "Untitled (n)", where "n" was edging up into 3 figures before I d...

Re: Saving documents

And, indeed, the files that are open in the application after the relaunch of the update. Not the ones that were open before the upgrade, but at least a week older. Now I have to remember what I was doing... :-)

Re: Saving documents

Interesting how items in the "Open recent" sub-menu are several iterations old after the upgrade. Or is this just me again...?

Re: Saving documents

It was the zip that I used - I've now tried the update in "Check for Updates" and it works fine.

Thanks!

Re: Saving documents

I upgraded to Mavericks a few months ago, probably the worst decision of my life (although there was an incident in 1982 which comes close, but I won't go into it here). Anyway, it took me about a week full time to downgrade back to 10.7.5 (I'd done a new full back up wth Mavericks and all my 10.7.5...

Re: Saving documents

I spoke too soon in any case, yesterday I ended up with three copies of a file on the desktop and when I thought I'd saved and then closed it, two of them disappeared. At least I still had one... I'm using 10.7.5. Should I downgrade NWP?

Re: Saving documents

Thank you, I think this has done it - removed the "keep without asking" option. Everything's back to normal.

Re: Saving documents

Back again. I still find it curious that a saved file should disappear. I just did it again. I opened a file - actually a .dot file and so I had an untitled document. I made changes (it's a letterhead, and I've moved), saved the file on the desktop as "new letterhead" (and it appeared on the desktop...

Re: Saving documents

Hi Martin, Thanks for that, I can deal with it now I know how, but it seemed to me particularly curious that I could go through what appeared to be a process of saving, and see the file on my desktop, and then have it disappear (not even in the trash) when I closed the file (clicking "delete" admitt...

Re: Saving documents

Thanks for the explanation, as long as I know...! Although I see in the saving preferences I can't select another folder for autosave - Document Manager is the only local choice, all the others appear to be in a dark room in Palo Alto.
