Re: Print specific pages

Martin, Adrian, thank you for the effort put into solving the prolem! Martin's final macro will go straight into my Macro folder in NWP3. Remark: will all the valuable macros posted in topics like the present one be added to the official macro repository? I'm asking because I went through the reposi...

Re: Print specific pages

I "solved" the problem with a Keybboard Maestro macro (as it often happens). I put solved in quotes because it is simply a macro faking the user interactions in the NWP3 print dialog (you know, flashing panels, cursor magically jumping here and there; a kludge). It somehow works but it's not nice. I...

Re: Print specific pages

Adrian, modifying a couple of lines the script executes correctly up to the print panel. -- *** For want of a better way to get a reference to the frontmost Nisus Writer Pro document, we appeal to System Events. tell application "System Events" set this_document to document of window 1 of applicatio...

Re: Print specific pages

Good suggestion, thank you. The print dialog only has the "From" and "To" fields available for user input and both of them only accept a number (no commas or hyphens). P.S. Reading again your post maybe you interpreted my request as the need to print a range es 12-15. This can be done. What I'm miss...

Re: Print specific pages

Hi Adrian, sorry for not being clear in my post; yes, that option is supplied by Word and it will not be available in NWP unless it is included as a new feature. As for the macro, I didn't find any existing macro for a print task to take as a starting point and, honestly, starting from scratch is ab...

Print specific pages

Maybe I'm missing something obvious here but how can I print e.g. pages 1 to 3 plus page 9 and page 12? Word 2016 print dialog has a dedicated setting for this but the option is not available when printing from NWP3. Screen Shot 2019-08-23 at 22.48.37.png The obvious workaround is to create a PDF an...

Merge documents: name for individually saved files

According to NWP3 manual (page 547) the "Merge document…" dialog should set the name of individually saved files to "First Name Last Name". Unfortunately NWP defaults to the fixed string "file" which results in the not so useful names "file (1).rtf", "file (2).rtf", etc. The manual also says that is...

Re: Macro to assign style

Martin, your suggestion will be indeed useful. Thank you!
Your worflow shares with a Command Palette the same "type ahead" concept; a palette will only be "smarter".

Re: Small issue with cross-refs PDF hyperlinks

Martin, thanks for your reply! I think that artificially move up the target of the PDF hyperlink could be the solution. I'm not proposing to move it to the top of the table/figure; just a small amount. In my OP I proposed to move it 1/3 of the page height but probably a 1/6 or even less would be eno...

Small issue with cross-refs PDF hyperlinks

When creating cross-references to tables or figures it's common and convenient to use the caption as destination (see the NWP manua as an example). Unfortunately when clicking on the hyperlinks in the PDF generated from the RTF the destination line (i.e. the caption) will end up at the upper border ...

Re: Macro to assign style

Hi Mark, maybe you're right but my problem with keyboard shorcuts is that I forget them all the time. Of course I have shorcuts for the most used commands (e.g. Headings when it comes to styles) and I'm not trying to find an alternative to ⌘S or ⌘B. I was just exploring an alternative fot the less u...

Re: Macro to assign style

Hi Philip, thanks for you reply! The exact code turned out to be: $paras.appendValuesFromArray $charas Re my #1: let's see what Martin thinks about it. Re: QuickLook plugin for .rtf files

Hi MacSailor, thanks for your check.
Rtf is by no means a Nisus propietary format but, given the state of affairs in MacOS, I think they should think about developing a QuickLook plugin themselves.

QuickLook plugin for .rtf files

Does NW Pro 3.0 include a QuickLook plugin for .rtf files?
The one provided by Apple doesn't show images (while it does show them for .rtfd files).
Sometimes I rely on graphics/charts to quickly identify files so having them shown in the preview would be of great help.
