Re: Nisus Pro 2

Geoff I'm sure you have nothing to worry about as far as Lion is concerned. Unless you want to use the vertical ruler in NWP 2.0 of course, that's certain to require Mac OS X 10.7. :)

Re: problem with new file

I discovered the problem. Nisus makes midget pages out of those documents that were created on iPad software called Pages. Pages does export to rtf, or rather it creates one. But somehow all my docs made from this read by Nisus make the page extremely short. Ok, now to enjoy the rest of this day. N...

Re: i've been away but nothing's changed!

Geoff, you missed it! 2.0 came out while you were away as a limited time special. It's great, the vertical ruler rules, and the multi-window stuff is just magic.
Unfortunately, like McDonalds this special release was strictly limited and may never happen again, at least not for a long long time...

Re: How do you transfer your Nisus program to a new computer?

I'd advise you to use Apple's Migration Assistant. When you are setting up your new MacBook it'll ask you if you have an older Mac and want to migrate files across from it to the new one. Just say yes and follow the directions it displays (you'll need a firewire cable to connect the two machines, al...

Re: Nisus Always Looks for my Desktop

In Nisus Preferences>General - do you have 'On application launch: Reopen previously open documents' set? If so, set it to 'do nothing' or 'show document manager' as you prefer.

Re: Can the iPhone read Nisus .rtf files?

iOS on my iPad (3.2) and 1st generation iPod Touch (3.1.3) both read .rft files saved in Nisus through Dropbox, but on my iPad will not open them in Pages. Nisus files saved as .doc will not open in Dropbox or Pages. Nisus documents exported as a binary .doc open in Dropbox and in Pages. RTF is not...

Re: Help! Stuck on "Typesetting Text" and other problems

What version of Mac OS X are you using? What language is the OS using? PPC or Intel Macintosh? Was the document created in NWP or another app (e.g. Word)? Is it an rtf format document or some other format? What language(s) is the document using? From your description it sounds like it used to open o...

Re: What about: "Export/Save as ePub"

We currently don't have any plans to release software for the iPad, but we are always evaluating the situation. For those users that are interested in such a thing, what kind of writing would you want to do on the go? Martin, mainly short one page letters (open standard company letter file, save as...

That's why - http://www.tuaw.com/2010/03/09/ebooks-outnumber-games-in-the-app-store/ "eBooks outnumber games in the App Store" - and remember: with ebooks the author IS the publisher - directly out of the word processor... HE No they're not. Most ebooks go through a very similar editing a...

Re: Stacking Windows Macro

That's a nice feature, and close to what I had in mind. But what I actually would like is for all of the windows to stack 'exactly' on top of one another. Guess I'm just a neat freak, but it helps me concentrated on the current document. I have set my Desktop background to the same color of the bac...

Re: Can I submit new words & definitions for the Thesaurus?

I know of no way to add words and definitions to the Nisus thesaurus, however given that Apple now supply a full dictionary and thesaurus (The Oxford American Writer's) with Mac OS X I never use the Nisus one anymore. I would expect that in due course they will simply hook NWE/NWP directly into the ...

Re: Two pages simultaneously side by side(horizontally)N-Pro.1.4

Assuming you are talking about two pages from the same document, then no it's not possible in NWP currently. This is in fact probably now (along with the vertical ruler of course!) the most often requested feature for NWP, and we all hope that one day soon it will be included.
