You're so right. I used to run Macaroni on my old iMac & hadn't gotten around to filling that position for the new MacBookP. I just downloaded Onyx & will use it immediately. You had better run a maintenance utility, like Onyx (http://www.titanium.free.fr).

Re: unable to use palettes for sections & columns
Thanks, Henry. I had tried doing this in a new doc, with no success (same behavior). I tried again today after reading your post, and when I inserted a Section Break and then tried to go to 2 columns in that section, Nisus crashed. I attach crash report for support folks. Then I tried again, a new d...

unable to use palettes for sections & columns
I want to begin a new section mid-page so that I can switch from one column to two. If I use the Insert>Section Break menu, I get a section break all right but the column palette is inoperative, number greyed out. If instead I open the Section Palette, to insert the break, that palette is also inope...

Re: Desired NWP1.2 Features
Another vote for a vertical ruler option. You are not alone, Geoff!
I was just making a little form, two-up, and would have liked to have had a precise visual marker of the center of the page.

missing manual
I downloaded the public beta yesterday, May 9, and there is no manual. The manual was unfortunately missing from the first copy of NWP 1.0.3 that we had available for download. This has been corrected, but quite a few users downloaded the copy without any manual.

Section break problem
Thanks, Martin and Geoff. I did not realize that the section break also had a paragraph break/return function. And Hi to Geoff. As I come back to Nisus after a few years in the Wilderness (but never in Microsoft Territory!) it was good to see some names familiar from the old Nisus––OS 9 & before...

Feature request: Insert title
I'd like to be able to insert the document title, without re-typing it, in the Footer. Often I like to put "DOCUMENT TITLE page 1 of 5" in the footer.

Section break causes extra unusable page to be added
If I insert a Section Break--Next Page near the bottom of a page (with say 2 lines left), NWP inserts a blank page and then the cursor appears on another page after that. I can't write anything on the blank page; it has the section break marker at the top and will accept no text. If I go to the next...

Add double caps to QuickFix
Thanks for the macros. For me, though, much of the typing I do is so short it doesn't seem that running a macro on each and every item is something I am going to do. Probably I should focus on improving my typing! I remembered the "correct double caps" option from some program's prefs and ...

I'm trying to lay out a simple membership card for a small organization. But when I bring the graphic into the Page View doc, which has been set to a custom paper size = business card size, here's what happens: Paste it in, as "Inline with text," it autosizes proportionally so that it fits...

text> table in TextEdit??
Now I am trying to turn my tab-delimited NWE doc into a table in TextEdit. I have version 1.4 (220) dated 2005. And there are table construction tools but I don't see any options for importing text as a table, in menus or in the Help. Have recent versions of TextEdit become something one has to buy ...

help! text>table =skinny text columns
Sorry for the previous cross-post (into NWP forum). I went from a search result to New Topic without realizing I wasn't in NWE forum. After changing tab-delimited text in a Nisus Express (2.7) doc into a table, all the text in the cells is strung out in a thin vertical column within the cell, with o...

help! text>table =skinny text columns
After changing tab-delimited text in a Nisus Express (2.7) doc into a table, all the text in the cells is strung out in a thin vertical column within the cell, with only 2 or 3 characters per line. For example, "ZIP" (for zip code) is thus: Z I P Widening the columns has no effect. Padding...
