Re: Crashing with find and replace
I have a large document with several thousand superscript footnote numbers. Many of these are the wrong side of a punctuation mark, e.g. word/superscript number/colon. I want to change these to word/colon/superscript number (and likewise with other punctuation marks). Try this macro. $punct = ':;' ...

Re: Can't get Arabic to work on Nisus Pro
Enable an Arabic keyboard layout in OS X. 1. Open System Preferences -> International. 2. Switch to Input Menu tab. 3. Check Arabic-QWERTY or Arabic (or Arabic-PC if you are running Leopard). 4. You'd better check "Show input menu in menu bar" too. Then, swich to Nisus Writer Pro. 1. Open ...

Re: Nomenclature: "smartt" and "curly" quotes

Re: \x0C finds footnote reference
I wrote a macro to substitute section break for every occurrence of page break, but it misbehaves when notes are around. To work around this, it is necessary to filter out text selections not belonging to the body text. Something like this would do the job. Require Application Version '3.1' Debug.s...

Re: Search anything (e.g. in CAPS) and change to small caps
In my case, it's glosses consisting of 2 or more CAPS. I'm able to find them with the GREP/Powerfind search. But I haven't found a way to 1. change the format of found texts 2. more specific: CAPS to small to small caps. Something like this should work. Find All '\b[[:upper:]]{2,}\b', 'E-i' Menu ':...

Re: Perl output messed up
no utf8; binmode (STDIN, ":bytes"); binmode (STDOUT, ":bytes"); I tried this, and it seems to not work. Oh, sorry. I tend to think the reason of the failure of those preambules is that UTF-8 characters, as values of variables, are written already and before them in the temporary...
