Re: Document Manager size and behavior

On the chance that NWP 2.0 might include this fix: How about making it possible to narrow the width of the DM window, beyond the current limit? The minimum width of the window is more than 1/3 of the width of my 15" screen. I'd like to be able to have the DM open beside the main window, but the...

Re: Convert rtf to plain text macro?

One more thing if I may.

Am I right in assuming that this macro (and Nisus in general) produces plain text files that are encoded UTF-8 ?

Re: Convert rtf to plain text macro?

Thanks, Martin.
Very handy indeed.
Nisus is able to do just about anything it seems. And having your help makes all the difference.
Cheers

Re: Convert rtf to plain text macro?

Well it's not very satisfying for a macro guru, but I've found another way - importing into Scrivener and then exporting as plain text. Easy enough, since Scriv can handle many files at once.

Convert rtf to plain text macro?

I have about 60 rtf documents that I'd like to convert to plain text. I know that Nisus can do this, so I'm wondering how to make a macro that could make this process quick and easy. I guess it should be child's play for anyone who understands the basics of the macro language, but that group doesn't...

Re: From plain text to notes?

Thank you, Kino. This is quite helpful. You’re right, of course, that I’d need to use your second solution, which works fine, as long as notes are not long. For me, anyway, long notes interrupting a text make for ugliness, and I often have long notes. What I was hoping to be able to do is: Keep note...

From plain text to notes?

I’m experimenting with writing in ‘plain text’—by which I mean using in-text code for formatting. This is easy for character formatting, and even for Paragraph formatting, since macros can turn this ‘code’ into real formatting in Nisus. But what about footnotes? I know I can use Ulysses to make the ...

Re: .nwm opening in TextEdit?

The problem is actually worse than it sounds. If I Get Info on a .nwm file and set to open with Nisus and then click Change All (whether I've closed the Get Info and reopened or not), the setting for the file in question *reverts to TextEdit*. wtf? I take it that this is an OS problem so I won't hol...

Re: Two macros into one: Typographer's Quotes

Thanks, Henry.

When I run these I get an error: expected "," to separate arguments.

In any case, I can’t produce a combination of quotes and punctuation that flusters the built-in ‘Convert' menu command. It seems to meet my needs just fine.

Two macros into one: Typographer's Quotes

I’ve made two macros via the Macroize feature of the Find dialog box. Each works fine. But I want to run them in succession. When I simply copy/paste the contents of #2 after #1 and make a single macro, nothing happens. I’m sure it’s child’s play, but I have no idea why. Here are the two macros (to ...

.nwm opening in TextEdit?

Not so long ago, Nisus Macro files (.nwm) opened automatically in Nisus when double-clicked. But now they open in TextEdit. What did I do? I thought I saw something not too long ago about this, but perhaps I dreamed. Sorry if I missed it. When I open the Info panel (CMD-I) for any given .nwm file an...

Re: Remove Keywords

I'm glad you can say it's not too hard, because it looks like quite a bit of work.

Thank you very much, Martin.

This will make the job much easier.
