I am pretty much in the same boat as you. Things work under 10.3.8. People have reported problems with 10.4.0 and 10.3.9 so why rush to upgrade. One difference, however, is that 2.1.3 seems to open 2.1.1 files fine for me.

I am also on 10.3.8 and I also can't start up. The nisus icon "zooms" when I double click on it but it never shows up in the dock. No splash screen, nothing. This is on a dual 1.42 Ghz G4 PowerMac with 2 GB RAM.

Is it the same build as the sneak peek? Should those of us who downloaded the sneak peek also download this official release?

NWE 2.5a1 seems remarkably stable for something marked as an alpha release. However, I have been having quite a few glitches. I haven't been reporting them because seem to fix themselves and then I can't reproduce them. Still they are annoying. I am interested if others are having similar experience...

If we added another icon button that would pop-up custom palette group names, would that do the trick for those of you who miss creating your own palette groups? Actually, Pages seems to have multiple selection.

However the styles don't seem to be hierarchical which would be a big advantage for NWE in my book.

I also played with Pages some at MacWorld yesterday and agree with Charles. However, the writing tools in Pages are a step up from TextEdit (it does have styles and such), even if they don't match NWE. I put a manuscript I am working in NWE on my iDisk and opened it in Pages. I was a little disappoi...

Anyone go to MacWorld and actually try it out. To me it looks like its only real advantage over NWE is in graphics handling. I doubt that Pages will beat NWE's implimentation of styles etc.
