Re: How to Create a Style for Unique Bullet Lists
So here's the thing: the bullet field does not allow you to insert things directly (the special characters menu from the Insert Menu is greyed out, for instance) but you can paste a character or two into the bullet field. So to insert whatever you want (I used the "filled diamond" from the...

Re: images disappearing
a PICT image? Can't believe I missed that. Yes, PICT is fairly well unsupported after Mac OS 10.6 or Snow Leopard. After a certain point I'm pretty sure the OS itself refuses to handle PICT at all; and only a few graphics apps retain support. Since Nisus image support is partially provided by the OS...

Re: images disappearing
Ah yes. That set of text you have is what Nisus calls the "image description". Why it exists, I don't know; as there seems to be no way to edit it. That shows up with a right click on the image, or if you hover over the box in some scenarios. But if you hover over the image in a different ...

Re: images disappearing
What is most likely to have happened is that when you imported the images, for whatever reason you had "save a copy in the document" off and only a "link to image" checked (if that). My guess is that the alias got broke somehow in the move/upgrade and Nisus cannot find the image....

Re: NWP and iOS: About Back&Forth-ing
I have a question though about Hamid's answer and regarding the other RTF app stripping styles. As I understand RTF, it's built to use different applications and each application shouldn't be stripping out tags it doesn't understand--like, say, Nisus styles. And stylesheets are a core feature of RTF...

Re: Paste pdf from clipboard into a Nisus document
Adryan's results suggest that you cannot copy say, page 4 of a PDF from Preview and insert that into a Nisus document. I've found that it is tricky, but in fact it can be done. So here's what I've found in my attempts to copy multiple pages of a PDF document into a Nisus one. In Preview, what you ge...

Re: Paste pdf from clipboard into a Nisus document
As a note here, I frequently have to copy and paste pages from PDF's into my document (rather laboriously, as you cannot copy more than one page at a time). So (usually using Preview here) I sometimes just get a link as well, instead of the PDF page. I've found that Nisus pastes just a "link to...

Re: Export to RTF issues
Ah, this is one of those rare cases where file format is important. RTF does not save images. RTFD, however, does. You cannot use the File|Export command to save as RTFD, but if you just Save As and save it as a RTFD document, you can send that document (it's actually a directory) and all your image...

Re: I can not open document
First of all, it sounds like a damaged file. Try opening Nisus so it is in the dock, running. Going back to the finder, locate the document. Hold down the command and option keys on the keyboard, and while holding them down, drag the document to the Nisus Writer icon in the dock. The Nisus icon shou...

Re: Accessing Applescript Script Libraries?
Thanks phspaelti. I kind of thought that was the case. Transferring information back and forth between Applescript and Nisus seems harder than it should be. Also, the "Send Selector" command is very limited, correct? We cannot send any arguments with our selector or use multiple argument s...

Also, how can you pass information to your applescript? Like, say, an array or dictionary?

Accessing Applescript Script Libraries?
Is there a way to access Applescript Script Libraries from Nisus? I have a Script Library that installed in ~/Library/Script Libraries/ and an applescript file that uses it. One neat thing about Nisus is that it runs Applescript sctp files directly. But while my script runs fine outside of Nisus, in...

Re: Dynamic word processor documents
I'll add in something more: Nisus does not have, as far as I know, the capability to run a macro on document open or program open. So any malicious document with a Macro in it would not run automatically, which would be in my opinion the biggest threat.

Re: Autosave minutes -- from my last save, or absolute?
Can it be changed? Almost certainly not. Which is unfortunate. I frequently have to add a multiple page PDF file as an appendix, for instance. The only way I've found to do that is to open the PDF in preview and laboriously copy one page at a time and paste it. Every time I switch to Preview to copy...

Re: Yosemite forever
El Capitan is pretty stable, as Apple has sort of adopted a "tick tock" strategy of "big release" then "Bug fix release." Snow Leopard, Mountain Lion, (Mavericks sort of is the odd one out), then El Capitan. Yosemite has bugs, and I think El Capitan is regarded for the ...
