Well - you could de-activate all the fonts never used in Apple's Font Book - i.e. the fonts beginning with "A, B, C" at least: to shorten the scrolling way to Courier each time you re-start Nisus Writer. Or just don't quit NWP/E - if working on an Intel machine with lots of RAM installed. HE

Well said: "The message is clear -- if you are still on a G4 or G5, don't go to Leopard. Stay with Tiger." Cheers, Geoff ...but - if working on an Intel machine, then everyone please upgrade to Leopard - if only for Time Machine. My first generation MacBook got a damn Seagate v. 7.01 hard ...

Sorrily -

your MacBook Installer will not work for PPC G4 - it's for an Intel machine. But why not upgrade your MacBook instead, as I wrote before - I feel fine.

For your PPC G4 you need - to buy, ebay or else - a universal Tiger box. No wild cats to download for free at Apple site...

Well - does this mean you use an old hacked font for transliteration, I wonder? I don't know about "EasyUnicode" - I stick to "U.S. Extended", i.e. just customized it to include German Umlaute as well: my "German Extended". So please try the Apple/Unicode way to compare...

Hi Ruth - as again in my pre-previous mail: when you alternatively enter with SHIFT/OPTION-X "dot" has to follow the "character/letter" as if writing with hand - over against the deadkey method doing it the other way round! So enter letter "h" first - to be followed by ...

Dear Ruth - I don't know about the font you got used to, but as in my previous mail: the way Hamid does it, you need a font including pre-compsoed characters with dots below to succeed! Please try other font(s) Lucida Grande, etc and maybe in TextEdit to compare with Nisus Writer. It definitely work...

Well Hamid - with (1) OPTION-X you get deadkeys, that work with pre-composed characters available in the font only. To enter all other possible diacritical marked characters and combine-on-the-flow use (2) SHIFT&OPTION-X. Both options work with "U.S. Extended" keyboard, but remember wi...
