Not to disagree for the sake of disagreement, but it's not very helpful simlpy to pile on with personal experiences of the program's stability. . . .The application's stability is (in my experience) far from what it ought to be, and autosave, while it helps, does not cure all ills. I'm honestly not...

I'm pretty convinced that it's just plain stubbornness. Oh, come on. You know it's true. Every time I send in a bug report, I know that Martin and Dave get it and fall on the floor laughing. And then they have a deadly serious conversation about how they only went up to Nisus Writer Express 2...

I wonder ... are CrisB and I using the same software from the same company? Mark I know it must be frustrating for a mission critical application to behave poorly, but I have the same response. Ever since the memory leaks in the betas last summer were fixed, I've had no real problems out of NWE at ...

Convert All UpperCase to Bold?

Hi.

Does anyone know how to get NWE to find all words in UPPERCASE and convert them to BOLD UPPERCASE?

Yes, with NWE in OS 10.39, but not related to the few documents that I have translated form Appleworks. Crashes occur with NWE native documents that have been hyphenated. Any attempt to alter these documents again leads to random hyphenation throughout the document, which requires a paragraph by pa...

Re: This gets me thinking...

You know, this post, especially the last two replies, has gotten me thinking. I have never come across a decent book on using your Mac for education, surprising since so many college professors, secondary and primary educators, etc. use the Macintosh on a daily basis. If not a book, I would even li...

Re: and

I have used it to create folder actions. For example, when students send me work, I want to make sure it is not confused with stuff I have graded. I created a folder action that takes the file I drop in the folder, which I just got from the student, it adds the word Ungraded to the end of the file ...

To which I should add: The major feature requests I've noticed for 3.0 have been outlining, TOC generation, image handling, more sophisticated table options (e.g. cell padding and spacing) and Bookends integration. Those would be great additions. By the way, your avatar is kind of freaking me out. ...

And feels a lot more like you're writing in iTunes! ;) I kid, I kid. Actually, that's true, although it's much better if you turn off the brushed metal. The thing I really like about Mellel is the outline pane, but that's another topic I guess. Yes. That topic has been discussed at some length here...
