The Macroize command in the Find dialog in PowerFind mode does not seem to translate Wild Card tokens. Such tokens, such as "any character" or "any letter", are replaced with spaces when Macroized.

The work-around is to switch to PowerFind Pro before you use the Macroize command.

The PowerFind bubbles/tokens should either be converted to PowerFind Pro expressions / plain text, or be preserved as special tokens (you can copy-paste them into regular RTF/macro files if you like). Thanks Bob, we'll definitely get this fixed.
