I am a playwright and it's my practice to assign a single letter as an abbreviation for a character's name. So for example typing the letter d will cause DAVID to be typed out.
Here's the problem: if I type "I'd" it appears as "I'DAVID." In other words, the program is interpreting the apostraphe as a space or return.
If this could be fixed that would be great.
Thanks.

why don't you use macro?
if you don't HAVE to simply type 'd' but you can adjust to type [alt]d or any other combination- just define it as a macro, assign a shortcut and solve the problem, at least for the time being..
