Collapsing all Navigator items at once

Post by ptram »

Hi,

I love the Navigator. Especially when working on longer, more articulated texts. Being able to quickly switch from viewing the whole structure in detail, and collapsing all to only see the uppermost level, is extremely handy.

Only, I can't find a way to collapse all items at the same time. For example, say you have:

- First section
-- Paragraph 1.1
--- Paragraph 1.1.1
--- Paragraph 1.1.2
-- Paragraph 1.2
- Second section
-- Paragraph 2.1
-- Paragraph 2.2

I can Opt-clic "First section" to collapse all its sub-sections to look this way:

- First section
- Second section
-- Paragraph 2.1
-- Paragraph 2.2

When opening the first item back again, by clicking on "First section", you see all dependent items are still collapsed:

- First section
-- Paragraph 1.1
-- Paragraph 1.2
- Second section
-- Paragraph 2.1
-- Paragraph 2.2

But how can I collapse everything to only TOC Level 1? I.e., this way:

- First section
- Second section

so that I can only see TOC Level 1 items shown, and everything else collapsed at once?

Comments have a general Expand/Collapse command, but I cannot find one for TOC levels in the Navigator.

Sorry Paolo, but there's currently no way to automatically accomplish the collapse/expand state you desire. You'll have to manually open/close those levels you are interested in. But I know you've written to us about this before and it's filed as something to add.
