resizing headers and footers

Post by ngazidja »

Why are there no longer any "handles" to resize headers and footers? I didn't notice when this disappeared, but I used to be able to select the header (or footer) and hovering over the edge of the margin the cursor would change to a pull handle to resize. I now have to go to the margins palette to enter a figure manually. Which is irritating.

Have I somehow turned this off? Seems a strange thing to abandon.

Still using NWP 1.4.2

Are you sure you are not in draft view?

Definitely in page view - otherwise I wouldn't see the headers!

That is because the Page Guides are locked.
You can unlock Page Guides from the View:Page Guides:Lock Page Guides menu.

Thank you!

(The headers and footers seem to be default-locked if page guides aren't visible - I suppose there's no way around this? Not that it really matters if I have page guides visible)

The page Guides are locked to prevent an inadvertent mouse click from changing your margins without you being aware of it.
You can edit your Nisus New File (dot file), unlock Page Guides and save the dot file. This should unlock page guides for all subsequent new documents.
