Hi,
I must be missing something simple, but I cannot figure out how to add "Page break before" to a style. The Paragraph section in the tools only has "Prevent Widows/Orphans", "Keep Paragraphs Together" and "Keep with next Paragraph." The Insert Page Break menu item is greyed out in the style view.
How do I create a "Chapter" style that causes a page break?
Thanks!
Ray
Page Break Before in a Style
Re: Page Break Before in a Style
Nisus doesn’t have page break before as a style, only as a character that can be inserted.
At least at the moment. You can send feature requests from the Help menu, Send Feedback….
Possible macro solution.

That is true, there is no way to enforce a page break via a style.
And there's no need to contact us directly about this enhancement, since you already started this forum topic. Any time someone asks a question about a feature, we take it as an implicit request for that feature. Thank you!

Re: Page Break Before in a Style
I agree with the other people. Nisus REALLY needs to have the ability to be abe to insert pagebreaks before/after a style. It is almost a deal breaker for me. I actually found myself loading up Pages today. I didn't want to, but I needed this feature so much I was forced into it.
I am really surprised that this isn't already in Nisus as it is one of the style related features that I use most regularly in any WP that I use, and I can't ever remember not being able to do it in Word, Pages, WordPerfect ... heck, even going all the way back to PC Write.
Anyone who divides any document up into section or chapters would surely prefer to have it happen by specifying a style than having to specify a style for the start of the section and THEN having to manually insert a page break.
I'm wondering whether I am missing something as I'm sure there must surely be a way to do this.

You never have to do tedious, repetitive tasks *manually* in NWP. Macros should take care of that.yorkieman wrote:Anyone who divides any document up into section or chapters would surely prefer to have it happen by specifying a style than having to specify a style for the start of the section and THEN having to manually insert a page break.
The macro "Ensure Breaks Before Paragraph Style" by Martin will do what you want to accomplish.
