Line Numbering Left And Right

Hello,
Is there a way to have odd pages display the line numbers on the right margin, and even pages display them on the left margin—as is capable in LibreOffice, what they called "Outer Positioning"? I am printing a book and it will look quite off for line numbers to be in the gutter margin. Thanks.
