glossary expansion improvement -- broken in 2.12

Running osx 10.9.5 and the new Nisus 2.12.

In 2.11, glossary abbreviations only very rarely expanded a second time. In 2.12, they do so frequently.

Assume the glossary entry

21 printer 21

Type 21(period) and you get "printer 21." as expected.

In 2.11, deleting the period and typing a space or another period or other trigger character did not cause the glossary to expand again. In 2.12, it does again, so you get "printer printer 21." The look-back feature of 2.11 seems to have been lost in 2.12, at least in combo with osx 10.9.5.

Is this behavior limited to 10.9.5?

Why still using 10.9.5? Just because -- and a slow connection.

I didn't have any luck in reproducing this behavior for Glossary expansions. I also did not observe the problem with QuickFix expansions.

However, if I added the same trigger (eg: "22") for both a Glossary and QuickFix expansion, I did see that it could be expanded more than once. The first expansion occurs for the Glossary entry (typing "22." becomes "printer 22."). If I then delete the triggering period and type another character, QuickFix is triggered second.

Could this explanation potentially explain the unwanted behavior? Do you have the same triggering text defined in multiple places?

Thanks for the reply.

The QuickFix being the typo corrections? Then no. Entries are only in the glossary files.

It is definitely happening on this end. Not all the time or everytime, but under conditions I haven't nailed down yet.

It does not happen with "new" text. For example, if the glossary entry is "21<tab>printer 21<GB>", typing 21(space) gets "printer 21(space)" and immediately backspacing and typing a period does not cause it to expand again. However, if I type a period after 21 while later editing, it expands again. It does this quite reliably. ;) I just confirmed this on earlier paragraphs in my current document.

I will try putting 2.11 back later and double checking. I'm pretty positive it didn't happen.

Do you maybe have two glossary entries with the same (or similar) triggering abbreviations? If you can't isolate the problem on your end, perhaps you can send us all your glossary files, so we can take a look.

Thank you again for your reply.

I don't think the problem is with the glossary file.

I created a new blank document and expanded some glossary entries. They would not expand a second time until I saved, closed, and reopened the document (trash.rtf in the 2 files I sent via Feedback).

I booted up 2.1 again and the problem is not there. I opened the trash.rtf file and the same entries would not expand a second time. Quit 2.1 and opened 2.12 again, and they do.

The glossary file contains just a few entries. They are not duplicated in any other open glossary file. Besides, I have found that if the same abbreviation is used in more than one glossary, only duplicate entries from one glossary (the last one opened, it seems) expand.
