is there a way to use or create a shortcut which brings me back to the history of cursor positions? Or at least the latest cursor position? (While working and moving around in a document).

Thanks for any replies!

G’day, zuzie_b et al

For the present purpose we will ignore the distinction between cursor and insertion point, and assume you just want to return to the insertion point (which will be marked by the usual vertical line cursor).

Whether or not the insertion point cursor is visible, typing anything will take you immediately to the insertion point position in the document. Type anything you like, see where it is being added to the document, then Edit > Undo Typing (⌘Z) if you were only trying to find the insertion point and didn’t wish to insert what you just typed.

To step back through previous positions of the insertion point, try using Edit > Select > Previous Selection (⌘[). The number of editing locations remembered is set in the Text Editing section of the General Preferences for Nisus Writer Pro.

I hope this helps.

Hello suzie_b

To go to the insertion point: Edit > Select > Flash selection.
To go the previous selection: Edit > Select > Previous selection.
To go to the next selection: Edit > Select > Next selection.

If you want to have the last two at hand, right-click on the toolbar and click Customize Toolbar… Drag the two blue arrows labeled "Back" and "Forward" onto the toolbar.

Cheers, Henry.
