new Mac book air. Nisus opens with TextEdit Logo. How to fix?
This happens to me about once a year.
First solution to try is to restart the Mac in "safe" mode, which deletes various MacOS caches. Follow these instructions:

After it finishes booting in safe mode, you need not follow any troubleshooting steps from the Apple article. Simply restart again normally, without holding the shift key.
This will reset the default application to open each file type. Select a NWP file in the Finder, do Get Info, change "Open With" to NWP, and click the "Change All" button.
If that doesn’t fix the icon, use the free utility Onyx to rebuild the Launch Services database.
