BTW the tooldrawer is the real giveaway as it's only available in the cocoa API - which is why you don't see them in carbon apps.

eh? Sorry, but I don't quite see what you mean - it looks very much like cocoa because it IS cocoa

I admit to being inadequately versed in the technical aspects (and, for the record, I didn't say that it isn't) - it's just that I had gained the impression that Cocoa applications had recessed window buttons.
I don't mind being wrong about that, notwithstanding that I think they look a whole lot better!

ah - I understand now FWIW the recessed window buttons are only in the brushed metal look apps - at least so far
