Duplex Printing

Hi. Is there a way to save a document as a duplex printed document, or does duplex printing always have to be designated in the Print box where the paper tray, etc. etc. are designated? (I'm using a Canon iP4600. I understand you can't really comment on my printer). Thanks. I apologize for the inordinately high level of ignorance.
