Is there an easy way to setup so that there is an indent after every paragraph (Return)?
Can this be set a general preference?

You just do this by using the ruler. Drag the top half of the left margin pointer to where you want the first-line indent to be, or double-click the pointer to set it by numeric measurement.
I don't know what you mean by the preference, exactly, but if you want that to be the default for paragraphs, I think what you'd want to do is set the "Nisus New Document" preferences -- go to the preference tab for "New Document" and select the "Advanced" pane, and then edit the "Nisus New File.dot" template to have the "Normal" paragraph set the way you want it. This is essentially the same way you'd have to do this in Microsoft Word, i.e., change the default template. It's slightly easier to do it in NWX, though.
