NWPro: Slow Performance with large documents?

NWPro: Slow Performance with large documents?

I have just finished a 400 page document in NisusWriter Classic
(when I began writing it, NW Pro was not yet available). Now,
with NW Pro and it's Glossaries features, I converted it to
NW Pro rtf format, using Kino's Apple script.

The formatting is simple: one font, and the same size throughout
the whole document, seven or eight paragraph styles, some italics,
bolds and bold smallcaps, the same header and footer, both with a
small logo.

The conversion itself worked quite well (only the bold small caps
has been lost).

But the performance of NW Pro working with the new document
is not very appealing.

Opening the document from within the application's Open
dialog, took 38 sceconds!!! NW Classic opened it in 2 seconds.

Working with the NW Pro document is a nightmare, as long as
the auto-save option is enabled, because it takes several seconds
to save the document.

I hope that a solution may be found in a further update of NW Pro.

If you can, please send us a copy of the document via the Send Feedback mechanism. We can always look and see if there's something special about your document that causes it to be abnormally slow.

Dear Martin,

thank you for your reply. But I am afraid I may not, because of two reasons: 1. the original document is a confidential work document; and 2. the Send Feedback mechanism does not work due to the configuration of the firewall at work.

But... I can send you a virtual identical document, same formatting, length and behavior, as e-mail attachment, since you provide an address I can send it to.

Regards,

Beurlen
