Some help with footnotes

Post by rgranit »

Hello,

I have a few questions concerning foot notes:

1. Is there a way to view all of the footnotes in one page?

2. How can I see all of my footnotes and jump between them?

3. How can I align the dividing line (between the text & footnotes) to the right?

Thanks a lot,

Roy

Hi Roy,

While there is no way to see all your footnotes at once, you can use the up/down arrowkeys in the footnote area to navigate between them all. Eg: if the caret rest on the last line of the footnote area on page one, and you press the down arrowkey, you will be taken to the top line of footnotes on page two (or wherever the next footnote occurs).

While you can customize the appearance of the divider line in the stylesheet, the alignment of the line is fixed to follow that of the section. Eg: if your section is left-to-right the divider line always appears left aligned. You could change your section to be right-to-left (via the Section palette) but this will affect other properties as well, for example, which direction table cells flow.

Guess I'll have to jump between them...

Thank you for your answer.

jump to note text

If you want to jump to the text of each successive note, you can use a NWP macro (with extension .nwm) like the following and assign a keyboard shortcut to it:

Select Next Note Reference
Go to Note Text

Thanks again,

By the way, how can I lower a text to the next page (ctrl+enter in word)?
