Main Text and Footnotes

Post by Noguchi »

I’m having a problem with the main text and footnotes. For example, the main text on Page 95 doesn’t go all the way down. (There’re no footnotes on Page 95.) Even though Footnote 102, which is for Line 1 of the main text on Page 95, is supposed to be on Page 95, it actually appears on Page 96. Even though Footnote 103, which is for Line 7 of the main text on Page 95, is supposed to be on Page 95, it actually appears on Page 96 with its several lines chopped off not only on screen but also when printed out. Footnote 104, which is for the last line of the main text on Page 95, doesn’t appear at all. Footnotes 105 and 106, which are for Line 2 and 5, respectively, of the main text on Page 96, appears on Page 98. However, there’s a page break between Page 97, which is the last page for Chapter 4, and Page 98, which is the first page for Chapter 5. Throughout the document, the setting for the Margins are as in the following:
Inner: 1.0 in
Outer: 1.0 in
Top: 1.5 in
Bottom: 1.2 in
Header: 1.2 in
Footer: 0.22 in
Gutter: 0.0 in
May I ask you for your suggestions, please?

It sounds like something is amiss, but it's hard to say without seeing the problem first hand. Would you be able to send your document to us using the menu Help > Send Feedback?

Do you have all three ‘Prevent widow/orphan’, ‘Keep ¶ together’, and ‘Keep with next ¶’ checked? Or both ‘Prevent widow/orphan’ and ‘Keep with next ¶’ checked?
