NWP as default application

Why is NWP my default application when I open a Word file? How do I disable this? Even though I much prefer working in NWP, sometimes I need a client's Word file to remain in Word.

Howdy. In the Finder, Control+click on a .doc file and choose Get Info... In the resulting window, about ⅔ of the way down, it says “open with” select whatever application you want to use (i.e. Word), then click the box below “Always open with”.
