Demoing NWP 2

Post by bjast »

I have been using NWP for years and would like to try out Version Two without committing to it, at first.

1. Is this possible, or does this only work as an upgrade of the previous version?

2. How does the demo of V2 handle the preferences & settings of V1?

It's definitely possible. Version 2 can be run without any prior copy of NWP.

Version 2 will automatically import all your settings from version 1.x. The reverse is however not necessarily true (settings from v2 might not be picked up by 1.x)

I would strongly recommend that you never have both versions 2 and 1.x launched at the same time, since they both access the same settings and could confuse one another. Running them interleaved will be just fine, though there might be a few preferences that don't carry over perfectly if you continually cycle between versions.

Thanks. I'll give it a try.
