I just opened up a file that I last worked on two days ago and the headers, footers, footnotes, bookmarks, section breaks were all gone. I don't think I did anything stupid between friday and today. any ideas?
If it helps I'm using NWP 2.0.4 on a Mac Mini OS 10.8.1.
Thanks.

Re: lost almost all formatting
The first thing I would suspect is that you accidentally opened the file in TextEdit. Because it doesn't support things like sections, bookmarks, etc, those features would be lost if TextEdit resaved your file. If you send us a copy of your file, it may help us diagnose what happened.
I'll cross my fingers that you have a backup, from Time Machine or otherwise!

I thought I had a backup on time machine, but time machine was not backing up my dropbox folder. (I have changed that). I restored the file with the help of copies of different parts of it, so that it is now almost back to where it was. don't know if would accomplish anything to send it to you now.

Re: lost almost all formatting
I'm glad you were able to stitch something together to salvage your work.
Having a copy of the latest/recovered file wouldn't help, but it we had a copy of the first problematic file (ie: the file at the very moment you first noticed some work/features had been lost), it might at least confirm the theory about TextEdit and give you some peace of mind. Of course, it's also possible this first file might already have been touched by Nisus Writer, in which case we won't be able to confirm anything (or there's some other bug at work here).
If you want us to take a look, you can email the file to:
