Infoclick How to exclude types of email

Post by dspady »

When I search with Infoclick I want to exclude certain types of mail: e.g. stuff I have deleted or put in the trash, or messages identified as spam. How do I do this?
Thanks

Yes, indeed! I am looking for a certain e-mail, but the same sender also sends almost weekly reminders, etc. How can I exclude all e-mails that include a certain word (or string) in the subject line?

Thanks!

Unfortunately there's currently no way to exclude InfoClick from indexing certain types of email. It's a good feature request however, and I'll be sure to file your votes for it, thank you.

That said, here's one tip for excluding junk mail from search results: in the "Kind" search field, if you choose the "Emails" selector, that limits your search results to regular emails, which does not include emails flagged as junk.

The just released InfoClick version 1.1 adds features to solve this request. You can now easily search for deleted emails using the "Trashed Emails" selector. You can also search for only emails in a particular Apple Mail account/folder. We also added a negation feature, so you can search for all emails not in a particular folder (or all emails that do not contain a particular word, etc).
