Headers with linked chapter names

At this point, I'm creating each chapter as a separate file, but later I may merge them into one document.

I'm trying to set up chapter headers, and I'm wondering if it's possible to link the chapter title's text (which has a paragraph style defining its format) to the headers, so if the title changes name, so will the header information. I guess this is something like "automatic content" which I found in the manual. Then again, maybe it's more like TOCs or indices. Something makes me thing this is not possible.
