Pleased with Nisus and 2.1

Post by Vanceone »

I just wanted to say I am very happy with this 2.1 release process; Martin has been very active solving bugs and the quick beta of 2.1.1 that has fixed numerous bugs is outstanding. Kudos to Nisus for this entire release!

Most of the changes in 2.1 appear to be bug fixes and under the hood tech changes to keep up with Apple; modernizing the app to some degree. Is there a roadmap anywhere for what we can expect coming up?

That's very kind of you to say, thank you very much! We always appreciate hearing positive feedback. I'll pass your thoughts along to the Nisus team.

That's true, Pro 2.1 was a bit of an "under the hood" release. It involved a lot of work, even though a lot of that was not directly visible to our users.

It does put us in a good place to move forward. We definitely have plans to keep developing and enhancing Nisus Writer. We have nothing to announce right now, but please consider subscribing to our newsletter to keep updated.

Just to let you know that 2.1 has not yet been released to the Mac app store yet. Still waiting.

I'm sorry about the delay David. We ran into some App Store submission problems with Apple's developer tools. We've been in contact with Apple's developer tech support to workaround the issues, but the exact timing is still unknown. Once the update is submitted, we still have to wait for Apple to steer it through the Mac App Store review process.

We're still working with Apple to resolve the Mac App Store (MAS) deployment issues. To alleviate the situation, we have a new Nisus Writer Pro (NWP) version 2.1.1 beta that will allow users to license NWP by importing a MAS receipt. If you obtained NWP through the MAS and would like to import your MAS receipt, take these steps:

1. Do not delete the MAS copy of NWP from your Mac. Leave it in its existing location (most likely the Applications folder).
2. Download NWP version 2.1.1.
3. Launch NWP version 2.1.1.
4. Choose the menu Nisus Writer Pro > Licenses...
5. Click the button "Enter License..."
6. NWP will try to automatically detect and import your MAS receipt from the Applications folder.

If NWP does not automatically detect your MAS receipt, you will need to hold down the Command key when clicking the "Enter License" button in step #5. That will trigger NWP to guide you through the process. Once you've successfully imported your MAS receipt, you no longer need the copy of NWP obtained from the MAS.
