Print issue with NWP 2.1.8 on MacOS 10.13.3

Post by cashdollar »

Since updating to the macOS High Sierra 10.13.3 Supplemental Update printing is skewed (see attached). I've change the print orientation, but in vertical orientation it's off. The issue doesn't seem to occur pages or word, but it does in TextEdit. Thoughts.

I'm not on Sierra, and can only guess at the problem, but your print sample does not look skewed (meaning that it is printed on an angle to the page, such that the printed lines are at an angle to the edge of the paper, which is more likely a paper feed problem that would not appear in your print preview), and you cite a problem with TextEdit, but the toolbar in your sample looks to be from Nisus.

It looks like your top margin is set to 0, causing the text to print from the top physical edge of the page. (I tried setting the top margin in a doc to 0, but NP would only accept a margin of 0.3"). Maybe check your page margin settings?

Or there might be a compatibility issue with your printer driver. This is only a guess.

This is from Nisus, but I looked to see if it occurred in other apps. Eg. Word, Pages, Safari and it does not, BUT it does occur in TextEdit. I also tested it with 3 different printers and it does the same thing. I've also created new documents and it occurs in them as well.

Installing that "macOS High Sierra 10.13.3 Supplemental Update" screwed up the keychain on my MacBook Pro completely and I had to spend an afternoon sorting the mess out and getting it to work again, partially with help from Apple; a friend's brand new iMac broke completely following installing it ... he had someone from a computer service company helping him solve it, again having to talk to an Apple support staff who admitted they had really screwed up with that update.

So I'm not surprised to hear of others having weird problems following installing the update.

Go figure. Nisus is apparently magic. No updates to the app since 12/17 (2.1.8) or the OS since 2/20/18, nor the print drivers since 10/17, but viola it's working again.
